Meet Attorney Thomas Soldan
Thomas Soldan received his B.A. in Government-Law and History from Lafayette College, where he graduated cum laude with special honors in History for his thesis on the application of world systems theory to the growth of baseball around the world. This project combined his passions for history, in particular the colonialism practices throughout history, and sport.
He then continued his education at the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia, where he participated in the Special Education Clinic, advocating for services for disadvantaged parents of special needs children. He was also a peer mentor for international students and an associate for LexisNexis, assisting fellow law candidates with research and writing projects and helping journal members with their expert law research projects.
After receiving his law degree, Mr. Soldan returned to his native Virginia and began practicing law. He was initially employed with a discovery and document review group in Richmond, Virginia, but he was missing out on his true passion, courtroom litigation. He soon gained employment with a boutique general litigation firm in Warrenton, Virginia where he practiced in nearly every area of civil and criminal litigation.
In 2011, Mr. Soldan joined the firm and focused his practice on the defense of criminal matters, including traffic, reckless driving and DUI/DWI defense and personal injury litigation, representing those who have been injured by the negligence of others. Mr. Soldan is a Past President of the Fauquier County Bar Association and is barred in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
He is a founding member of the Occoquan River Bandits Baseball Team, an expansion franchise in the wood-bat Blue-Gray League, an NABA accredited league that has member teams from throughout Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. “Baseball is a passion of mine,” Soldan says, one he is fortunate enough to continue to participate in as a player. He is also an avid sports fan, having been a season ticket holder for the Washington Nationals since their move to South Capitol Street.
Additionally, Mr. Soldan is an avid trail runner, participating in races as long as 50K through the mid-Atlantic region and assisting friends in even longer endeavors, including the Grindstone 100 Mile Race, Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 Mile Run and most recently, the Western States Endurance Run in California.
